She used colors in this piece. There is a background. She used lines. There is a spiral.
She used hue with the color white. She used perspective with the spiral. She used value. She used yellow on the shell. She used red in the background.
I think she was trying to show the detail of the shell. Also she was trying to make people stop and take a closer look at the shell.
All in all, this is a good piece of art because she took a common shell and made it larger to show the texture and quality of the shell.

In this painting of a sea shell with red, I see a sea shell, with red surrounding it. In the back I can see a hint of yellow and pink maybe as a background. I can see the arrangement of lines in the sea shell, color in the whole painting, value, and texture within the shell. I think the artist is trying communicate either a birth of a new born by using a shell to represent the new birth or the shell being buried to show the life journey of the shell. Overall, what I think makes the art piece is the proportion and color.

In this piece there is a painting of a large white shell in the center of the painting. It is surrounded by a red background with slight pink and yellow areas at the top. She goes in depth with the shell showing the swirls and excess lines of the shell, adding value to the painting. Overall this is a successful/good piece of artwork because of her vivid representation, but it is not that eye catching to me, because it is plain.

The colors that were used were warm colors like yellow, red, and brown. There was also no specific shape in the painting. Inside the spiral she used blending from the whites to the brown. I personally don't like how all the colors were dull to look at, so to me this wasn't really a good painting, but as far as making the shell the main attraction it met that goal.

In the painting O'keeffe draws a big shell brownish, grayish color. The shell is surrounded by a pomegranate color, then behind it it looks like a horizon. The elements O'keeffe uses are: unity, variety, emphasis, space, and lines. I think the painting is supposed to represent serenity. The reason I think so is because it looks as if the shell is buried and in a isolated area and it appears smooth and unharmed or at peace. The artwork is successful because of the unity and color scheme balancing.

In this artwork by Georgia O'keeffe the White Shell With Red has a shell that's white in color and surrounded by a red color. The red looks as if its surrounded by a desert and the shell looks like its being protected. The artist arranged the elements of arts using shapes, color, line and also value. She used elements, for example the shell in the vented of the piece, the color scheme was bright, the value was towards the bottom but there wasn't any shading on the red like thing on the shell. The shell has curved lines and straight lines in the background. The artist is trying to convey to the reader that the shell was the certain attraction to the desert like area and the red color around the shell says they feel stuffed/ or create a calming mood to the eye. I think that the shell made the artwork successful because it was a bright color to the eye and attracted my attention. Well that is my opinion. Also the color of it was well thought out.

  11. This artwork uses three colors in the background (red, pink, yellow), the shell is huge with a spiral of lines, and also has value. The artist arranged this pieced by placing the shell directly in the center. O'Keefe's purpose was to place emphasis on the shell by making it a completely different color than the background so that it stands out to the viewer. What makes this artwork successful is the large shell and its detail.

The artwork by Georgia O'Keeffe is an illustration of a some type of shell. The piece is called White Shell with Red. The background is red and yellow with placements of pink and brown scattered throughout the piece. I see that the shell is white however, the lining and emphasis of the shell are made clear. Though the background's colors mix, the shell's "pure" white remains concealed by the thin lining of the design of the shell. The artist makes use of warm colors and one "eye-popping" color to achieve her use of how balance and emphasis work together. I feel that the artist wants to point out the loneliness of the shell. Shells are usually present on beaches, but sand isn't usually red. Given this information, I can see that a pure and rare looking object is placed in an uncommon environment. While the background could be a desert, the shell has no signs of wear and tear, dirt, or dullness. This illustration, though mysterious and lacking information, remarkably gives you and idea of how isolated this shell might be, however, it retains its shine and beautiful appearance.

Georgia O'keeffe drawing is a shell, the colors that are used in this painting are white, red, pink, and yellow. The way the painting is done is by showing the full image of the shell which fits the screen and its also in close up view which allows everyone to look at the detail. I believe she drew the complete shell to show the variety of colors used in the painting. I think the painting is good itself it just needs a little of more creativity to it.

Georgia O'Keefe provides a huge white shell with a reddish background in this particular artwork. You can see the shell very clearly with a red-like mountain behind it. Behind the mountain shaped figure there is a not so clear background seeming like more mountains in the back with a sunset behind them. The artist is trying to communicate a warm summertime vibe with the observer. This artwork is successful because it was unique and odd at the time, Georgia O'Keeffe was probably the only artist doing such work like this at the time.

There is a big tan color shell and a red and pink background. The artist used value to create depth and also a swirl illusion. I think the artist is trying to accentuate the beauty she feels for this shell by painting it up close. It's a pretty good piece in itself

O'Keeffe's painting is of a shell that has colors ranging from light to dark grey. The colors of the landscape are shades of red and the horizon is yellowish.
There are a few artistic techniques within the painting. One is the use of texture because not only is the shell smooth but they whole painting has a smooth look. The second technique is the use of lines because there were curved and spiral lines used to create the shell and the background. The third technique is value because they were shades of red, yellow, and grey in the painting
From what I have viewed the artist created a close view of the shell to show the uses of the artistic techniques on a larger frame and the beauty of the shell in the unique red landscape.
I believe that this artwork done by O'Keeffe is excellent because she used unique styles that made me wonder what an ordinary shell is doing in and unordinary place. The whole scene is mysterious but beautiful at the same time.

  17. O'Keeffe's art piece was dark colored mostly, white with grey shading , a spiral design, and a smooth look. looks like a shell of a snail. the background is dark red with pink and yellow behind it. I wondered why the shell wasn't in an outdoor environment but that's what makes this piece unique in its time.

I see warm colors and the red brings more attention to the background. The lighter colors begin at the back and the darker colors are at the front. I think the artist is trying to bring the viewers attention to another place. What makes the artwork successful is the way the red covers the shell and the background.

The shell have red and white color. Some parts of the painting are more light than others.
The shell drawing does not have repetition only a kind of that to form the shell, one ring round the another.
Georgia O'Keeffe used some kind of shadows to give more value to the shell, getting more attention on that.
The colors on the background make the shell get the viewers attention because it takes almost part of the painting. It looks simple but it makes the shell stand out.

O'keeffe uses the color peach and yellow for the background, the red to surround the shell, and white and details on the shell. O'keeffe uses the red to make the shell pop. She uses the dark parts to show the shadow. She uses the background look like the desert so it will go with the surrounding of the shell. She drew what she thought was an amazing sight. The author of this work made a shell with a mixture of the colors white, grey, and a taste of orange in it. Looks like the shell of a snail. The background is red and may represent some type of cloth the shell could be laying on. The shell has a swirl not in the center but near the center. The contrast of the lightening and darkening is pretty unique, and I also noticed the author used maybe paint to make this artwork. The artist did an excellent job with this fine piece of art and I like the two dimensional layout of the shell.

Georgia O'Keefe painted a picture of a white shell with darkened tones on the surface of it surrounded by dark warm colors. The artist painted the picture with the use of shading from light and dark tones and also the use of lines to construct the look of the shell and the background. The way the picture is painted, the shell could be either laying on a red piece of cloth or could be a shell laying in rich red sand in the desert. This artist could possibly communicating the simplistic beauty of a white shell. The thing that makes this artwork successful to me is that it's genuine and different.

The painting has a shell in the middle of the artwork taking up most of the space, surrounding the shell is dark red, orange with yellow and white. Georgia O'keefee applied the elements of art by putting together a set of colors that contrast each other, light colors going against strong colors to have a painting that pops. This art work, created by Georgia O'keeffe, represents a shell. The shell has a soft color to it while its background, possibly sand, is in a deep red color. The painting has a soft texture, with no visible brush strokes. O'keeffe used curved, not-so-thick lines. There was not blending of the the objects, so the painting doesn't give a very abstract feeling. The one true connection I am able to acknowledge from this piece and O'Keeffe's feminist beliefs is that like a shell, a woman's voice may be as soft as the oceanic sound resonating from the shell. The painting makes me feel very at-peace.the painting is a serene success.

This is the painting of a shell that is a dirty white in color. The background is in layers, with yellow on top, then pink, and then finally a large red background. The shell is sheltered into the red background. There isn't much details in terms of lines on the background or shell. The shell has a spiral on it that's more left than centered. The shell itself is centered on the page. I feel that O'Keefe is trying to communicate that no one is ever alone. I say this because the shell is alone in the center of the page, but it has the three backgrounds backing it up. The fact that the artwork looks simple is what makes it successful.

Describe: This is a painting of a shell from Georgia O'keeffe in 1938
Analyze: Georgia O'keeffe used shading on the shell to show light
Interpret: She is trying to show that the shell is starting to break
Evaluate: this is a successful painting because of the detail in the shell and the shading of the shell

  72. This painting doesn't really show me much from the artist point of view it doesn't show any emotions it doesn't show me why the artist painted this or how he's feeling.

  73. Describe: I see a snail shell there is a lot of swirls in it and the background is red
Analyze: The shell is in the middle it is a very light colored shell with darker backgrounds. She used the space by making the shell very large.
Evaluate: I think the artist was trying to show a boring very still object with more depth and make it look very beautiful.
Judgement: I like the colors in the painting. I think she should have made it smaller so the background could be more in depth.

In the art work by Georgia O'Keeffe she uses water paint, he choice of paint scheme was warm colors with a burst of red. She painted the shell in the foreground of the art piece. O'Keeffe used art elements such as blending and shading. I noticed that in a lot of Georgia O'Keeffe's art work she uses a lot of the same art elements and she paints a lot of her artwork up close. Overall this is a nice art piece.

  80. In the art work of Georgia O'Keeffe the artist used some shades of red, grey and yellow. The artist arranges the elements in order of necessity. The artist is saying that something simple as an sea shell can be beautiful in different ways. What makes the art work successful is the color scheme they used.

The artwork presented appears to depict a grayish seashell partially buried underneath red sand on a beach during sunset. The red of the beach gets more dark as the sand travels further back into the picture. The shell itself is shown in emphasis and wile a pale color for most of the shell's spiral it shows obvious shading and opening itself to other more bright colors. The shell is show upfront in a way that even if it is completely buried that the sand would move aside so is not to hide the shell's beauty. This artwork is successful in the fact that it is using all the material presented to it and has a feeling of realism.

I believe this piece of art work can mean a lot to a person in a way its almost the start of a new beginning such as the mood that the artist has given upon us starting with the background with the pink-reddish color to me it gives a person joy its almost a certain piece of a new person created in a shell

This painting gives off a more positive field gives you are able to imagine a beach with sand and the cool blue water. this painting is much more simple than what you would expect I think she mad it simple to draw you eye straight to the shell.
